Catch of the Day - Mathwire.com - 8 Mar 10

Today's tasty catch is Mathwire.com

Mathwire.com provides appropriate activities and worksheets for teachers to use in their classrooms. All of the activities and worksheets relate to the constructivist learning theory for mathematics and support the NCTM Standards.

Mathwire.com Home Page

The activities on Mathwire.com were developed by Terry Kawas and teachers in school systems where she has worked as a math consultant and coach or with college students she has taught. The activities have been classroom-tested by teachers. When necessary, appropriate modifications have been made based on this testing.

Mathwire.com Search Page

There are several different ways to look for specific topics or activities on the Mathwire.com site. In addition to a standard search box, links have been added to the upper left of the home page and the main Mathwire.com search page: A-Z List, Standards, Topics, Archives, and What's New?.

Example Search Results

The alphabetical list (A-Z List) and the Mathwire.com Archives are good places for new visitors to start exploring the site as they allow a comprehensive excursion through the activities and topics on the site.

Example Activity

Teachers are free to download any of the Mathwire.com activities for use in their classrooms.
