Catch of the Day - Sqworl - 11 Mar 10

Sqworl is today's ocean fresh delight

Sqworl is a site that allows you to easily collect and organize links to web sites on your own free web page.

Sqworl Home Page

Each group (page) you create has a unique URL. The easiest way to add a new page to a group is by using the Sqworl bookmarklet. Enter a short description for the link if you wish. A thumbnail of the site's home page is automatically provided for the link.

Adding a Link with the Sqworl Bookmarklet

The mobile version of Sqworl for the iPhone/iPod Touch can be accessed through your device's Safari browser [http://sqworl.com/m]. Simply login and navigate through your groups. The link thumbnails are not shown. This is NOT an iPhone app that needs to be downloaded and installed, but a browser based app.

The goal of Sqworl is to be a clean, simple, and easy way to visually organize multiple links and it seems to do it remarkably well.

Back in August 2009, I did a piece on LiveBinders. Although the two sites present their products differently, there are similarities between LiveBinders and Sqworl in both functionality and application.

I have started using Sqworl and weblist.me to collect websites for each of our literacy chapters. It makes it easy for students and teachers to access great resources without wasting time typing and re-typing every url.
