Catch of the Day - HippoCampus - 6 Aug 09

The fresh catch for today is the homework help and study site HippoCampus

HippoCampus provides high-quality, multimedia content on general education subjects free of charge to high school and college students.

Students can browse multimedia lessons or complete courses in ten subject areas such as algebra, biology, calculus, physics, psychology, statistics, and US history.

Teachers can create custom HippoCampus pages for their students. Students can get tips from the HippoCampus blog. HippoCampus also offers content specifically tied to a number of popular textbooks.

The same content offered free to individual students and teachers at HippoCampus is also available for academic institutions through membership at the NROC Network.

HippoCampus is a project of the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education and was designed as part of Open Education Resources, a worldwide effort to improve access to quality education for everyone. HippoCampus content has been developed by some of the finest colleges and universities in the world. HippoCampus is supported by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
