United Classrooms (UClass) is a free online collaboration platform that connects students to their classmates, teachers, parents, and other classrooms through a secure classroom profile page.



United Classrooms takes students beyond the classrooms walls. Diverse students can connect through the creation of a safe and dynamic global community where knowledge, experiences, and relationships can be shared.

With United Classrooms, teachers can:

  • Create projects, post homework/announcements, upload assignments, message students, and drive dialogue on the classroom feed.
  • Collaborate with other teachers anywhere in the world.
  • Post classroom announcements and information to keep parents informed and connected.
  • Manage student content, including deleting communication and suspending accounts.
  • Motivate lessons and discussions using content generated on UClass.

Students can dialog with their classmates, their teachers, and students around the world sharing thoughts, questions, comments, and reflections. Students can also view and download homework assignments and teacher announcements.

Math/Science Nucleus is an educational and research organization composed of scientists, educators, and others serving as an online science resource center for school districts, teachers, and administrators.


The major goal of Math/Science Nucleus is to develop students' problem solving abilities through science. To this end, they provide a free online reference science curriculum. The curriculum includes not only lesson plans, but online animated storybooks and slideshows that help educators integrate science content.

Makewaves, from the UK, provides a free social media platform for education enabling schools to create and safely share videos, podcasts, and blogs.


The Makewaves school blogging network has been providing safe social networking for schools since 2003 when it was first known as Radiowaves. They work with schools, local authorities, charities, and government departments to publish internet radio, school podcasts, videos, and blogs from students around the world.

Over 50,000 students with mopre than 130,000 blogs and videos stories already online are using Makewaves regularly to broadcast their school podcasts and videos using a safe social network.


Started up by brothers Mark and Tim Riches, the Makewaves team now includes teachers, broadcasters, journalists, developers, designers, project managers, and trainers.

Keen Talks, founded in November of last year, is an educational resource that curates talks, lectures, presentations, interviews, and debates, similar to TED Talks.

Keen Talks seeks to be a "one stop destination for all users who want to learn and expand their knowledge in various fields like science, technology, health, psychology etc."

Keen Talks doesn’t curate only lectures and talks, but a wide range of engaging and interesting videos from anywhere. They include any form of presentation that can bring a significant degree of cognitive content to the table.

Keen Talks rarely includes lectures delivered in a classroom setting, unless they’re particularly noteworthy. They offer a broad range of different kinds of public appearances by some of the world’s significant intellectual figures.

INKids Releases New iOS Math Game

INKids, the subject of an earlier post in May of this year, creates and delivers free and inexpensive iPad apps from Australia that help young kids learn literacy, math, and more.

INKids just released a new Classroom Game called Math Champ.

Math Champ is a challenging and innovative quiz game designed for grades 4 to 7 (ages 9-12). Any student with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch can compete head to head, in real time, to become the class Math Champ.

Math Champ was a runner up in this years Desire2Learn Edge Challenge and is changing the way kids think about math classroom.
