With roots in the famous World Game*, o.s.Earth's Global Simulation Workshop is an exciting, innovative interactive game that builds critical skills, social bonds, and global awareness.

The Global Simulation Workshop is a live-action game in which participants assume the roles of global leaders. The players must use creativity and integrated thinking to succeed in a complex environment. Each participant forms a small part of the entire conceptualization, part of a team, a company, an institution, a nation, the world.

Developed by a team of experienced educators and researchers over the past three decades, o.s.Earth's Global Simulation Workshop has been hosted by more than 2,500 educational institutions, organizations, and corporations around the world.

This modernized version of Fuller's World Game continues to inspire its participants to explore the political, economic, and cultural forces that shape our world. Low Cost Whiteboard and Tablet PC from a Wii Remote

This is really cool! You can use a Wii remote and a DIY infrared pen to turn just about any surface you can project on into a pretty good interactive whiteboard. This video from Johnny Lee (Carnegie Mellon Univ) will show you how. Johnny even shows how to turn any laptop with an LCD screen into a tablet PC.

Making Better Use of Technology in Education

Todd Ritter (Download Squad) suggests five ways to improve technology in education, from the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Expo and Conference Monday in Hershey.

"It's important for our educators to understand and adapt new technologies so that students can benefit from read/write instruction instead of a stale, read-only education."
  • Stay informed
  • Focus on the process, not the product
  • IT professionals who understand education
  • Become a user of technology
  • Don't fear change
