Featured: 11/15/2012 NS Teens [Net Safety]

NSTeens resources are designed to help "tweens" (ages 8 - 12) make safer online choices through lessons presented in a series of animated videos. The videos highlight the Internet-related adventures of a diverse cast of teenagers.

Select videos from one of NSTeens' three series to facilitate an Internet safety discussion with your students. Educators may reinforce the safety lessons in the videos with the accompanying activity cards.

NSTeens also is home to NetSmartz’s Real-Life Stories videos, a series of narratives from actual teens about real experiences of online victimization. Each of the videos is accompanied by an activity card to promote student discussion and understanding. The Real-Life Stories series deals with more sophisticated subject matter. You may want to review them before using with younger students.

The Additional Materials sections includes tween (8-12) and teen (11-17) presentations, pledges, and tip sheets.

All resources on NSTeens are free and offered in both English and Spanish. Log-in is required in order to download all materials.

NSTeens was created through a partnership between Sprint® and the Internet safety experts at NetSmartz® Workshop, a program of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC).
